This week @ Beaches Sangha - Jampa on emptiness

Hi all.

This week at Beaches Sangha Jampa will be giving a talk on 'emptiness' - a term you hear quite frequently in Buddhist circles. Here's his (rather poetic) taster...

Emptiness is the open-endedness of the world to change and re-definition as opposed to being forever fixed and self-defining. Normally, we suppose that the world is already and always fully real, existing independent of our minds, out there waiting to be revealed to us. That our minds are merely passive observers, like mirrors reflecting what is already there. Emptiness is the absence of just such a fantasized way of existing—independent existence: we, in fact, are continually collaborating in the creation of our world. When the mind is awakened to this newly-found reality, there occurs a fundamental transformation: the spontaneous arising of the joy that comes with the freedom from the tyranny of views and the compassionate participation in therapeutic world-making.

Here's the photo for this week.

:)  I hope you can make it.
